The cart holds what a shopper wants to buy; checkout turns it into a paid order. PersonaCart keeps both steps simple and secure — money flows through the store's own payment gateway, and the buyer sees a clear total before they pay.
The cart
Adding an item opens the cart, where the shopper can review what they've picked, change quantities, or keep browsing before checking out.
Checking out
What happens — and what doesn't
- The buyer sees a clear total — including any tax the store applies — before paying.
- Payment runs through the store's own gateway, so card details go straight to the payment processor, not to a middleman.
- A finished order lands in the buyer's order history right away.
- A store that hasn't finished setting up payments can't take checkout yet — the shopper is told to check back rather than hitting a broken flow.
Is checkout on PersonaCart secure?
Yes. Payment runs through the store's own connected payment gateway over an encrypted connection — card details go to the payment processor, not stored by the store.
Where does my order go after I check out?
It appears in your account under Orders, where you can track its status and, for digital goods, reach your downloads.
